Cairo, Egypt, August 22, 2017- Egypt's opposite attacker Hisham Ewais is considered one of the most promising stars at the ongoing FIVB Volleyball Men's U23 World Championship held in Cairo Stadium Complex in Egypt, and is one of the competition's best scorers including 29 points against Cuba.

The number of points is considered a record under the new scoring system currently being tested: a best-of-seven, 15-point set format.

Hisham is also remarkable for his popularity with the Egyptian fans and is playing in the same position as Egyptian legend Ahmed Salah, arguably the country's best ever player.

He was selected for the Egyptian U19 team and continued to play a key role in all age groups until he played for both U21 and U23 Egyptian teams in 2015.

Hisham was then nominated to the Egyptian senior team for the first time in 2017 to play in the FIVB Volleyball World League. He now carries the hopes of a nation at the 2017 FIVB Volleyball Men's U23 World Championship.

"We need to beat Poland on Wednesday to secure a second round ticket for the first time in this age category," said the promising Egyptian star. "We need our fans to support us to achieve our goals."
