Cairo, Egypt, August 18, 2017 - Egypt electrified their hometown crowd with a marathon seven-set 4-3 (15-10, 15-13, 12-15, 15-8, 9-15, 13-15, 15-15) comeback win against Pool A rivals Japan in the 2017 FIVB Volleyball Men's U23 World Championship at Cairo Stadium Complex on Friday.
After Egypt went to 2-0 and 3-1 leads, the Japanese team came back aggressively using blocks to draw 3-3 and extend the match to the seventh set. After early Japanese lead again in the tiebreak, Egypt rebounded aggressively to win several points using the Japanese errors to win the set 15-10 and the marathon 4-3.
