Cairo, Egypt, August 18, 2017- Brazil started their 2017 Men's U23 World Championship in the right way beating Mexico 4-0 (15-7, 15-8, 15-7, 15-10) in Pool A at Cairo Stadium Complex on Friday.

Brazil used their efficient service to disturb the Mexican reception, as they didn't allow them to come back throughout the match. Romulo Silva led Brazil scorers with 7 points , while Bruno Cruz Ibarra led the loser side scoring only 4 points.

Brazil easily won the historic first set with the new scoring rules of best-of-seven sets with each set to 15 points (with at least a two-point difference needed) instead of best-of- five to 25 points, as they were the better side 15-7.

Afterwards the South Americans went easily to win three successive sets 15-8, 15-7 and 15-10 and claim the first win under the new rules in 69 minutes
