Team profile

The U23
Argentine Team competed in the two World Championships of this category that
were organized so far. In 2013 it finished in seventh place in the tournament
that was hosted by Brazil, while in 2015, when it played with most of the Youth
Team that achieved that year the 2nd place on its World Championship, ended
sixth in the United Arab Emirates. The team that will participate in Egypt
played the U22 South American Championship in 2016 where it reached the final
against Brazil and, shortly afterwards, became champion of the U23 Panamerican
Cup in Mexico.

Coach

Camilo Soto

Camilo Soto

He is the
coach of the U23 Argentine Team since 2016 when he directed the two
competitions that played this squad: the U22 South American Championship where
his boys finished in second place and the Panamerican Cup in which Argentina
was champion. He is from Neuquen and as a player he had a long history as
outside hitter even with participation in the National Team. In addition, he
also was head coach of Gigantes del Sur in the last A1 Argentine League.
