Cuba beat spirited Japan

 

Cuba won crucial match against Japan

  Cairo, Egypt, August 20, 2017- Cuba overcame the struggling Japan in a thrilling encounter 4-2 (15-13, 19-17, 14-16, 13-15, 16-14, 15-13) in Day 3 of the 2017 Men's U23 World Championship in Cairo Stadium Complex in Egypt on Sunday. 



 Cuban opposite attacker Miguel David Gutierrez Suarez was behind the tough victory scoring impressive 17 points, while Japan's Kenta Takanashi was the match scorer making the second best scoring performance in the competition in the competition so far with 25 points. 

All matches in Cairo are played under a new scoring system currently being
tested
:
 best-of-seven, 15-point set format.

 Cuba improved their competition record to 2-1 in three matches, while Japan dropped to 1-2.
